| Guerneville hosts two music festivals on Johnson
Beach each summer, a Blues Festival at the beginning of the
summer and a Jazz Festival at the end of summer. The Vineman and
Barb's race take place in Guerneville during July &August.
These are qualifier races for the Iron-man Triathlon which takes
place in Hawaii. Many other visitors rent canoes at locations a
few minutes
upstream of
Guerneville,
such as
Mirabel
Beach or
Forestville,
& spend a
day cruising
downstream,
through calm
water &
occasional mild rapids. |

| The Russian River runs through the east part of Healdsburg
where visitors enjoy the beaches, swimming, fishing, canoeing
and kayaking, all the way to the Pacific Coast. Ride or drive
the Coast to enjoy sightseeing, walking on beaches, whale
watching or climbing. Enjoy a scenic using your own vehicle or
local transportation tour from San Francisco all the up through
Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino, visa versa or start anywhere in
between. Guerneville/Russian River is a year-round
fishery. Summertime is the best time to fish for Smallmouth and
Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Bluegill. Small Steelhead begin
their run in September, with the larger Steelhead making their
way in November up to the end of April. The best Shad fishing
starts in April and continues thru June. Catfish are good
fishing at this time as well. The Russian River can be fished
from the shore, wading in, or by boat. Motorized boats are
allowed but most fisherman use a canoe or a kayak. |
